Epica live at Koninklijk Theater Carre, Amsterdam, 2027

Epica play Koninklijk Theater Carre in Amsterdam on 29 January 2027 at 20:00. The band is a Dutch symphonic metal act founded by guitarist and vocalist Mark Jansen after he left After Forever. Epica began as a symphonic metal band with gothic influences and later added strong death metal elements, with progressive metal influences evident from the third album onward.

The sound combines soprano vocals by Simone Simons with growled vocals by Mark Jansen, and the band makes extensive use of orchestral arrangements and operatic choirs. Epica released its debut album, The Phantom Agony, in 2003 through Transmission Records, and later signed with Nuclear Blast. The ninth album, Aspiral, came out in April 2025.
