Tank and The Bangas with Zeus

Tank and the Bangas bring their New Orleans-bred sound to Kansas City, with Zeus also on the bill. The group grew out of the city's open mic scene and is known for a lively fusion of funk, soul, hip hop, rock, and spoken word. Frontwoman Tarriona 'Tank' Ball leads the way with a voice shaped by church singing and a playful, imaginative stage presence.

Winners of the NPR Tiny Desk Contest for 'Quick,' the band has collected Grammy recognition including a Best New Artist nomination and a win for Best Spoken Word Poetry Album. Their performances weave together soulful melodies, spoken word, and a whimsical 'Soulful Disney' sensibility, making for an eclectic and theatrical concert experience.
