The Wailers: 50 Years of Positive Vibrations

Fifty years after *Rastaman Vibration* carried reggae to the world, The Wailers return for a tour built around that landmark album. The set draws on songs like “Positive Vibration,” “Roots, Rock, Reggae,” and “War,” performed live by a band that continues under the leadership of Aston Barrett Jr., son of bassist Aston “Familyman” Barrett. Barrett Jr. also portrayed his father in the biopic *Bob Marley: One Love*.

The band’s lineage reaches back to the ska days of Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Bunny Wailer and their later Island Records work. In Honolulu, the show takes place at Blue Note Hawaii, where the intimate club setting puts the music front and center. The evening offers a chance to hear reggae classics that still speak to resistance, spirituality, and hope.
