Sofia Half Marathon 2026

Wizz Air Sofia Marathon 2026 takes over the streets of Sofia on 10-11 October 2026, and the Address Run half marathon over 21 km is run on the second day. The organiser's programme sets the half-marathon start at 09:45 on 11 October, a quarter of an hour after the ASICS Marathon over 42 km and the Honor Together Relay Run (2 x 21 km), which both start at 09:30. The shorter races go off the day before: the FIB Mass Run over 5 km at 09:00 on 10 October and the Garmin Run over 10 km at 10:00.

The half marathon starts in front of the National Art Gallery on Knyaz Alexander I Square. The published course heads west out of the centre as far as the Lyulin Tunnel and turns back, then follows a second loop through the streets of the city before returning past Alexander Nevsky Square to finish at the same spot by the gallery.

In mid-September the organiser reported that more than 10 600 runners had registered for the 43rd edition, a record for the event, and that more than 1400 of them come from 65 countries.

Every half-marathon entrant receives a bib with a disposable timing chip, an ASICS race shirt with the Wizz Air Sofia Marathon logo, a cloakroom bag, a Powerade isotonic drink, a Wizz Air voucher worth 20 euro and a finisher's medal. The race is held under WA rules and the rules of the national athletics federation.

Both race days come with music, dancing and DJ sets at several points along the course, and the ASICS Cheering Zone greets runners in the final metres before the finish. Registered participants can also visit a selection of museums and galleries in Sofia free of charge on 9, 10 and 11 October 2026 by showing their bib number at the entrance.
