The Bamberg Christmas Market 2026 takes place from 24 November to 23 December 2026. During Advent, the Bamberg pedestrian zone becomes the Christmas market, running from Maximiliansplatz through Grüner Markt to Obstmarkt, through the historic old town. Between the houses stand decorated wooden stalls with toys, Christmas decorations and gift ideas.
It smells of Bratwürsten, Lebkuchen and Glühwein. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday 09:30 to 20:00, Friday and Saturday 09:30 to 21:00, and Sunday 11:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.
The market lies in the pedestrian zone. It is accessible without steps; the paths run partly over historic, uneven cobblestones, which can make getting around harder for people with mobility restrictions. An accessible "Toilette für alle" is at the Tourist Information in the Geyerswörthstraße.
