Görlitz Silesian Christkindelmarkt 2026

The Schlesischer Christkindelmarkt zu Görlitz takes place from 4 to 20 December 2026. Händler, Gastronomen und Handwerker present their goods and specialities from Schlesien, Sachsen und Böhmen in a Christmas atmosphere. Weihnachtsmusik, Chöre und Ensembles aus Görlitz set the mood.

Every day the Görlitzer Christkind visits the market and distributes small gifts to young and old. The market square offers traditional Weihnachtssingen, a children's programme prepared by kindergartens and schools from Görlitz and Zgorzelec, and a Weihnachtskrippe with an animal enclosure.

The Christkindel appears daily at 16:00 on the stage in its white Kutte and proclaims its message, then distributes sweets to the children. As part of "17 Tage – 17 Essen", a regional, national or international dish is prepared daily at 17:00 by a chef team and given to visitors of the Christkindelmarkt for a donation; the donations go to charitable and community activities in the Europastadt.
