Lettre au père, Franz Kafka at Théâtre de Verdure

In the leafy setting of the Jardin Shakespeare in the Bois de Boulogne, the Théâtre de Verdure presents a staged reading of Franz Kafka's *Lettre au père*. This intimate open-air theatre offers a fitting backdrop for Kafka's searing letter, in which he dissects the dynamics of paternal authority with surgical precision, oscillating between submission and revolt, accusation and justification.

Beyond the personal tragedy, the text carries a biting irony: a son crushed by a father whose intransigence borders on the grotesque. The performance gives voice to this impossible dialogue, confronting the silence that once stifled it.
