This four-day workshop series invites children aged 7 to 14 to build their own percussion instruments from simple, recycled materials like cardboard and seeds. Led by musician Maria Fonzino, the sessions explore rhythm through hands-on activities: making maracas and shakers, learning basic pulse and notation, and playing alone or in groups.

Participants will listen to musical excerpts from diverse styles, recognize rhythmic patterns, and even learn a small choreography to accompany their homemade instruments. The program, run by the association Harmonies Itinérantes, emphasizes reuse of materials while developing listening, coordination, creativity, and self-confidence.

Fonzino, a bassist and singer with experience in Latin and contemporary music, brings a playful, accessible approach to music education. The workshops alternate between crafting, listening, experimentation, and collective play, offering a joyful journey into the rhythms all around us.
