Steve McLean recounts the true story of five musicians who pretended to be the rock band Deep Purple. The show is presented as an example of Murphy's Law, in which everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Riots, chaos and karate feature in the account. Amid the carnage, the musicians manage to play the first ever stadium rock concert in Mexico. The show draws on the book Stealing Deep Purple, written by Steve McLean.
