The Haunted Trail: Malahide Samhain Festival, Dublin

The Haunted Trail: Malahide Samhain Festival is an interactive Halloween experience at Malahide Castle & Gardens in Dublin, running from 17 to 31 October 2026. It is run by Follow Fox Events and is split into four zones across the castle grounds. Zone 1 is The Haunted Trail, an accessible woodland walking trail through the Malahide forest.

It has light Halloween scenes and hidden characters who interact with visitors, including Puck the Jester, Malahide's resident ghost. Zone 2 is the Celtic Samhain Village, set among traditional wooden huts and stalls. It offers live turnip carving displays, hazel-wand crafting, basket weaving, mask making, ring toss games and live fire performances.

Zone 3, Tales From Beyond The Veil, features Irish storytellers telling ancient myths of Samhain and the Cailleach, set to live acoustic bodhrán, fiddle and harp arrangements. Zone 4 is the Food & Drinks Village, serving hot spiced cider, hot chocolate, barm brack and local autumn bites. A day experience is suited to younger children and those who spook easily, and costumes are encouraged.

A night experience takes the trail after dark and adds storytelling from 'Candlelit Tales' live on stage with celtic musicians. Hot food and drinks are available to purchase.

The night experience suits all ages. Tickets start at €18.00 for children and €21.00 for adults, with family bundles available.
