Angelika Milster (born 9 December 1951 in Neustrelitz) is a German singer, musical performer and actress who grew up in Hamburg. She attended Margot Höpfner's acting school from 1968 to 1971, studying singing, acting, dance and pantomime, and worked early on in productions such as Godspell and in cabaret.
Her breakthrough came in 1983 when she played Grizabella in the German-language premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats at the Theater an der Wien, a role she kept until 1987; the German version of 'Memory', 'Erinnerung', became closely associated with her. She had her own TV show, Mein Musicalhaus, in 1985, toured Europe in Song and Dance in 1988, and later played Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard (2017) and appeared in Im weißen Rössl (2018).
Her film debut in Meine Sorgen möcht' ich haben (1975) earned her the Ernst-Lubitsch-Preis, and she was a regular cast member of the ZDF series Der Landarzt from 1990 to 2004. Her recordings span musical, Schlager, pop, chanson and sacred music; her debut Schlager-pop album Ich liebe Dich won an ECHO Pop award in 1996, and since 2002 she has given over 500 church concerts.
