Columbus Crew
Columbus Crew is a professional soccer club based in Columbus, Ohio, competing in Major League Soccer. Founded on June 15, 1994, as one of MLS's ten original clubs, Columbus was the first city to reach the league's threshold of 10,000 season-ticket deposits following the momentum of the 1994 FIFA World Cup held in the United States. The club began play on April 13, 1996, initially operated with major investment from Lamar Hunt and his family.

The Crew played its first three seasons at Ohio Stadium before moving in 1999 to Columbus Crew Stadium, the first stadium built specifically for soccer in the United States, a move that established the template later followed across MLS. Over its history the club has won seven major trophies, including three MLS Cup titles, in 2008, 2020 and 2023, and three Supporters' Shield titles as the league's top regular-season team, in 2004, 2008 and 2009.
The club's early adoption of a soccer-specific stadium and its sustained on-field success across three decades led MLS Soccer to describe Columbus as a model franchise among the league's founding clubs.
Columbus Crew now plays its home matches at Lower.com Field in Columbus, having relocated from the original Crew Stadium in 2021.
