Ingo Appelt is a German comedian and cabaret artist, born on 20 April 1967 in Essen. He lived in Würzburg from the age of 11, trained as a machine fitter at Siemens and was active in the IG Metall union before turning to comedy. He has worked as a full-time comedian since 1993.

He first became known through guest spots on RTL Nachtshow, RTL Samstag Nacht and the Quatsch Comedy Club on ProSieben, and for parodies of politicians and celebrities. He hosted the Ingo Appelt Show on ProSieben in 2000, which was cancelled after 11 of 13 planned episodes, and anchored RTL's Freitag Nacht News in 2006. From October 2014 to January 2024 he presented the Bayerischer Rundfunk programme Kabarett aus Franken.

His stage programmes include Göttinnen (2013), Besser ... ist besser (from 2015) and Der Staats-Trainer (2020), and he has released albums such as Der Abräumer (1997) and Feuchte Seite (1998). In 2017 he received the Berlin-Preis at Das große Kleinkunstfestival. He also wrote the book Männer muss man schlagen (2008).
