Informazioni su Madra Salach

Drawing on The Pogues and contemporary Irish folk revivalists, the band blends traditional instrumentation with distortion and synthesizers, an experimental edge that Banks has said comes to the fore in their live shows. Members come from largely non-traditional musical backgrounds, and the group has drawn comparisons to fellow Irish folk revivalists Lankum.

The band released the singles "Blue & Gold" in September 2025 and "I Was Just A Boy" the following month, ahead of its debut EP, It's a Hell of an Age, in January 2026. The EP reached number three on the Irish Albums Chart and topped the independent albums chart; its title track and songs such as "Murphy Can Never Go Home" draw on traditional balladry about Irish emigration.

Since the EP's release, Madra Salach have built a rapidly growing following, with tens of thousands of monthly listeners on streaming platforms and growing press attention from British and Irish outlets, who have highlighted the band's live performances as central to its appeal.
