Informazioni su MIKE
He gained wider recognition with the mixtape Winter in New York (2017) and has since released a steady stream of projects, including May God Bless Your Hustle (2017), Black Soap (2018), War in My Pen (2018), Disco! (2021) and Beware of the Monkey (2022). His work is characterized by an abstract, lo-fi production style, often self-produced under the alias DJ Blackpower, paired with a low, muffled vocal delivery and introspective, stream-of-consciousness lyrics.
MIKE's music is associated with the East Coast abstract and experimental hip-hop scene alongside collaborators such as Wiki, Earl Sweatshirt and the Alchemist; his 2023 album Faith Is a Rock was made with Wiki and the Alchemist. Critics have described him as a distinctive storyteller addressing themes of grief, adolescence and self-reliance.
He released Showbiz! in 2025 and the collaborative album Pompeii // Utility with Earl Sweatshirt, and performed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, continuing to release music through the independent label 10k.
