What it is.
Wonderland Lisboa is Lisbon's largest Christmas market and winter fair, held annually at Parque Eduardo VII since its launch. The 2026 edition is the 11th, built around the theme "The Roots of Christmas," exploring Portuguese craftsmanship, regional gastronomy, nature and intergenerational family experiences. It is organised by Media Capital and NIU with support from the Lisbon City Council.
Dates and schedule. Portuguese event listings report that the 11th edition of Wonderland Lisboa is expected to run from 27 November 2026 to 3 January 2027; the organisers had not yet confirmed these dates on an official channel at the time of writing. Daily opening hours for 2026 have not yet been published; in the prior edition, hours varied between weekdays, weekends and holiday dates, so check the official channels before visiting.
Where it happens. The fair takes place at Parque Eduardo VII, Lisbon's largest central park, near Marques de Pombal at the top of Avenida da Liberdade. It is reachable on foot from the Parque or Marques de Pombal metro stations (Blue and Yellow lines).
Tickets. General admission to the park and market stalls is free. Individual attractions - the Ferris wheel, the ice-skating rink and other paid experiences - are ticketed separately, and 2026 prices for these attractions have not yet been published; organisers say they will confirm pricing before opening.
Getting there. Parque Eduardo VII sits at the top of Avenida da Liberdade, a five-to-ten-minute walk from Marques de Pombal, which connects to Lisbon's Blue and Yellow metro lines, plus multiple bus routes. It's centrally located enough that most visitors can reach it on foot from downtown Lisbon or by a short metro ride from other parts of the city.
Tips. The market draws large crowds on weekends and around the December and New Year holidays, so visiting on a weekday evening tends to be quieter. The Ferris wheel and ice rink are the most popular paid attractions and can have queues at peak times - arrive early if those are a priority.
Since Lisbon's winter nights are mild compared with continental Europe but can still be damp, a light jacket is generally enough, though conditions vary by evening. Past editions have also included a food court, a traditional carousel and a Santa's House alongside the market stalls, and organisers describe the 2026 theme as an exploration of Portuguese craft and gastronomy traditions rather than an imported, generic winter-market look - worth factoring in if choosing between Lisbon's several Christmas markets during the same weeks.
