Gov't Mule With Ziggy Marley

Gov't Mule is an American Southern rock jam band that came together in 1994 when guitarist Warren Haynes, bassist Allen Woody, and drummer Matt Abts started playing during breaks from the Allman Brothers Band. Rooted in the power-trio sound of the 1960s, their concerts lean on extended improvisation and a deep well of covers — Neil Young, Free, Traffic, and Jimi Hendrix have all shown up in their sets.

The years since have brought nine studio albums and a shifting cast of collaborators. After Woody's death, the Deep End sessions pulled in bassists like Jack Bruce, John Entwistle, and Flea, and the band eventually settled into a quartet with keyboardist Danny Louis and bassist Andy Hess. They've even leaned into dub and reggae on Mighty High, which adds a little color to what you might hear onstage. This San Antonio show pairs them with Ziggy Marley, making for a two-act evening.
