O Gladys Knight

Knight and the Pips recorded hits across the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, including "Midnight Train to Georgia" and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine." She launched a solo career in 1987, recording two number-one Billboard Hot 100 singles and eleven number-one R&B singles over her career, and later collaborated with Dionne Warwick, Elton John, and Stevie Wonder on "That's What Friends Are For."

Her work has earned seven Grammy Awards from twenty-two nominations. Knight was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 alongside the Pips, and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2001, cementing her standing as one of soul music's most enduring vocalists.
