The Nutcracker - Ballet and Orchestra is a ballet performance at Lotto Arena Antwerpen in Antwerp on 3 January 2027, 16:00. The Paris Ballet Theater performs this original Franceconcert production, which uses Tchaikovsky's music and Petipa's libretto and is based on Ivanov's choreography. The story draws on E.T.A.
Hoffmann's tale. Young Clara receives a nutcracker shaped like a little man as a Christmas gift.
On Christmas Eve the toy comes to life and takes her on an adventure that includes a battle against mice, a transformation into a prince, and a journey through a fairy-tale kingdom where flowers and snowflakes dance. The two-act ballet premiered in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
