MEIN JAHR OHNE UDO JÜRGENS is a staged reading and concert performance at TD Berlin, Klosterstraße 44, Berlin, on Sunday 20 December 2026, 20:00. Tickets start at EUR 11. The evening is based on a book by Andreas Maier, with realisation by Patrick Wengenroth.

Udo Jürgens died in 2014 at the age of 80. Maier responded by writing a humorous reflection in column form, trying to work out what gap his death left. The text runs from "Merci Chérie" to "Es wird Nacht, Señorita" and sketches a picture of a generation along the way.

Patrick Wengenroth guides the audience as master of ceremonies, in a tuxedo and a white terry-cloth bathrobe, with piano and voice. Matze Kloppe provides the music and Georg Scharegg performs. The trio, a formation from the founding days of TD Berlin, appears together on stage after a long time.

The show is a format that has developed over more than ten years and opens the season at TD Berlin. Text rights: Suhrkamp Verlag.
