A Menina Garça: Opera for Babies at Museu do Oriente

A Menina Garça is a gentle opera for babies and young children, blending music and theatre into a single intimate performance. The story follows a poor woman who weaves cloth to sell, a heron she rescues, and a girl who in turn saves her — a tale of compassion, friendship, greed, and sacrifice, all leading to a happy ending.

Families with babies and children up to six years old can enjoy this 40-minute show at the Museu do Oriente in Lisbon. The ticket also includes free entry to the museum, making it easy to turn the outing into a full cultural afternoon. The production is created by Associação Setúbal Voz, with artistic direction by Jorge Salgueiro.

The venue is located at Avenida Brasília, Doca de Alcântara, easily reachable by public transport. It's a wonderful opportunity to introduce little ones to live performance in a welcoming, child-friendly setting.
