This New Orleans triple bill pairs three very different local sounds. Malevitus plays art rock with a post-punk edge, Blood Lovey works a stripped-down rock vein, and Atomic Broad brings grindcore noise. Together they make for a compact evening of music on one St Claude Avenue stage.
The newest of the three, Blood Lovey is built around frontwoman Rachelle O'Brien with veteran New Orleans musicians Eric Laws and Jeff Louviere, plus drummer Jay Purcell. Their songbook mixes eclectic originals with revamped covers, and past studio work has featured guests like Sean Yseult, Chris Constantinou, and Tiana Hux.
