On Monday nights, The Bluebird Cafe opens its stage to songwriters for an open mic focused on original material. Participants sign up online for one of the evening's 18 slots, then each performer plays one or two original songs, solo or with up to two accompanists. The club provides a house Taylor Grand Pacific guitar and a Kawai digital piano, and does not allow drums or backing tracks.
