The Return of Damon Wayans

Damon Wayans brings his stand-up act back to Honolulu for the Blue Note Comedy Series at Blue Note Hawaii. The evening puts a veteran comedian, actor and writer from the Wayans family on stage, one whose career reaches back to the comedy-club circuit and a featured-player stint on Saturday Night Live.

For many fans, Wayans is inseparable from In Living Color, where he spent three seasons as writer and co-star, creating sketch characters such as Homey the Clown, Handiman and Blaine from Men on Film. That work earned him two Emmy nominations and helped define an era of sketch comedy on network television.

Later film roles in Major Payne, Blankman and Mo' Money broadened his audience, while his HBO specials kept the focus on live stand-up. At the Blue Note, with table seating, a full bar and dinner menu, the show feels like a relaxed supper-club night out with a comedy headliner.
