The Rumble Plays P-Funk in New Orleans

The Rumble, a seven-piece ensemble rooted in New Orleans' Black Masking carnival tradition, brings its electrifying brass and funk to Tipitina's. The group, featuring Second Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr. and trumpeter Aurélien Barnes, updates the classic sounds of The Meters and The Neville Brothers with vibrant energy. Their live show is a visual and sonic spectacle, complete with call-and-response chanting and rich costumes.

Joining them are jazz vocalist Jamison Ross, funk guitarist Ian Neville, and DJ Soul Sister, a veteran DJ known for spinning rare soul, funk, and disco from her vinyl collection. The evening promises a deep dive into the city's musical heritage, blending tradition with contemporary flair.
