Giorgia Fumo is an Italian stand-up comedian who describes herself as part Roman, part Sardinian and part from Pisa. She studied engineering in Pisa and worked for about thirteen years in data analysis and consulting, including market intelligence roles for multinational companies. During that time she performed in Pisa venues and took and taught improvisational theatre courses.
She moved towards stand-up comedy in 2019 and left her corporate job in 2023 to work as a comedian full time. She became known through short comedy sketches on social media, and a trend she created about American tourists in Europe was picked up by The Guardian and Corriere. On television she has performed monologues on programmes including Stand Up Comedy, Stasera c'è Cattelan and Le Iene, and she is the author of the book Ingegneria della vita adulta, published by HarperCollins.
Her earlier theatre show Vita Bassa toured Italy over two years. Her show Out Of Office, written by Fumo and directed by Enrico Zaccheo, draws on her years in offices and satirises meetings, email, spreadsheets, burnout and workplace jargon, as well as the way the boundary between private and professional life has blurred.
