О Mon Laferte
Her music spans Latin alternative, bolero, indie pop and alternative rock, marked by theatrical vocals and stage presence. Her fifth album, La Trenza (2017), remains her most acclaimed work and went four-times platinum in both Chile and Mexico, while her duet with Juanes, "Amarrame," won Best Alternative Song at the Latin Grammy Awards. She has won five Latin Grammys in total and was named by Billboard as one of the greatest female Latin pop artists of all time in 2025.
After recovering from thyroid cancer around 2009, she rebuilt her career under the Mon Laferte name, moving from mainstream pop toward a personal, genre-blending style rooted in Latin American folk forms and rock. She has sold more than 4.8 million album-equivalent units in Mexico, making her the top-selling Chilean artist of the streaming era.
She has continued releasing new music regularly, with Femme Fatale (2025) and a second volume following in 2026, extending a catalogue that began with La Chica de Rojo in 2003. Laferte remains one of the most prominent Spanish-language artists of her generation, balancing music with an active visual-art practice.
