Sylvan Esso
Sylvan Esso is an American electropop duo formed in 2013 in Durham, North Carolina, consisting of vocalist Amelia Meath, born July 2, 1988, and producer and multi-instrumentalist Nick Sanborn, born March 8, 1983. The two met in Milwaukee after Meath asked Sanborn, then performing solo as Made of Oak, to rework her song Play It Right, and their creative partnership quickly became a permanent group.

О Sylvan Esso
Their self-titled 2014 debut album, released on Partisan Records, reached number 39 on the Billboard 200 and included the single Hey Mami, later named Paste magazine's song of the year. The follow-up, What Now (2017), and its successor, Free Love (2020), were each nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album, with Free Love marking the duo's third consecutive album to reach the upper half of the Billboard 200.
In 2018 the Songwriters Hall of Fame recognised the duo with its Holly Prize for their songwriting. Meath and Sanborn married in June 2016 and run their own label, Psychic Hotline, through which they released their fourth album, No Rules Sandy, in 2022, a record reviewers described as a more exploratory and playful turn compared to the band's earlier work.
The duo remains an active touring and recording act based in North Carolina, continuing to write, produce and perform together under the Sylvan Esso name.
