Fabian. Der Gang vor die Hunde at RambaZamba Theater, Berlin

Fabian. Der Gang vor die Hunde is a stage production at RambaZamba Theater in Berlin on Friday, 23 October 2026, at 19:30. Jacob von Wienskowski, previously Jacob Höhne, directs.

The performance is sold out, though remaining tickets may be available at the box office on the evening. Tickets start at EUR 30. The production is based on Erich Kästner's 1933 city novel.

Its title character, the unemployed advertising man Fabian, wakes up after a night of drinking at a fast-food stand in the metropolis. A small group gathers around him and asks what he will do now. In Kästner's novel, Fabian is an ironic observer who fails to take action, drifts through the city and ends up alone.

At RambaZamba Theater, Fabian does not stumble through the city alone. A group of outsiders discusses the fragility of morality, empathy and resistance amid present-day crises, using their own texts, drag show elements and the beats of the house band 21 downbeat. RambaZamba Theater is an inclusive theatre whose programme covers drama, dance theatre, performance, music events and visual art.
