Literatura e Cinema III – Intermedialidades

This film cycle explores the intersections between literary creation and cinematic language through screenings of landmark Portuguese films. Organized by the Associação Portuguesa de Escritores and coordinated by Luís Machado, the program features three notable adaptations: *Sem Sombra de Pecado* and *Balada da Praia dos Cães* by José Fonseca e Costa, and *Francisca* by Manoel de Oliveira, based on works by David Mourão-Ferreira, José Cardoso Pires, and Agustina Bessa-Luís respectively.

Each screening is accompanied by a commentary from a specialist—José Manuel de Vasconcelos for the first film and Maria do Rosário Lupi Bello for the other two—offering deeper insight into the relationship between literature and film. The event takes place at the Biblioteca Palácio Galveias, a municipal library in Lisbon's Campo Pequeno area, providing an intimate setting for these cinematic discussions.
