Читать все подробности

Joy Oladokun is an American singer-songwriter whose music travels across folk, R&B, rock, and pop. Raised in Casa Grande, Arizona, by Nigerian immigrant parents, she grew up on country and folk records alongside Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill, and took up guitar at ten after seeing Tracy Chapman. Her songwriting is grounded in her identity as a queer person of color, with songs like “Sunday” written for the younger self who needed to know you can be queer, happy, and holy.

Over five albums, from the Kickstarter-funded Carry to Proof of Life and Observations from a Crowded Room, Oladokun has explored belonging, self-acceptance, and the realities of being Black in America. She has shared stages with Hozier on the Unreal Unearth Tour and collaborated with artists such as Noah Kahan, Mt. Joy, and Chris Stapleton. Expect a live set that pairs intimate, emotionally direct ballads with folk- and rock-leaning anthems from across her catalog.
