Sunn O))) Live in Sacramento

Sunn O))) brings its monolithic, drone-heavy sound to Sacramento for a rare live performance. The band, formed in Seattle in 1998, is known for its extremely loud shows, where members perform in robes amid thick fog, creating an immersive, almost ritualistic atmosphere. Their music—a blend of drone, doom, and dark ambient—unfolds at a glacial pace, with heavily distorted guitars and resonant feedback building vast, eerie soundscapes.

This concert comes as the duo, Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson, celebrates the release of their tenth album, their first for Sub Pop and their first new material since 2019's Pyroclasts. Joining them on stage are Black Mountain Duo and Leila Bordreuil, promising an evening of experimental heaviness that pushes the boundaries of rock and avant-garde music.
