نبذة عن Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
The orchestra has had five music directors: Henry Sopkin (1945-1966), Robert Shaw (1967-1988), Yoel Levi (1988-2000), Robert Spano (2001-2021) and Nathalie Stutzmann, who became music director in 2022 as the first woman to hold the post and has had her contract extended through the 2028-29 season.
Under Shaw, the ASO built a reputation for its choral-orchestral recordings, and its long partnership with Telarc Records yielded 26 Grammy Awards through 2010, including for performances of works by composers such as Dvorak and Brahms. The orchestra made an early digital recording in 1978, among the first American orchestras to do so.
The ASO performs its regular season at Atlanta Symphony Hall inside the Woodruff Arts Center, presenting core classical repertoire alongside contemporary works and film-with-live-score concerts.
