Berlin's public transport (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram) makes both days easy without a car. Prices are adult admission for 2026 — book the Reichstag Dome and Museum Island slots online in advance, as both can sell out on busy days.
Day 1 — Government quarter and Museum Island
Start with the Reichstag Dome (free, but a timed slot must be booked online in advance), walk to the Brandenburg Gate, then spend the afternoon on Museum Island. Day 1 entrance fees come to about €19.
| Stop | Entrance | Time needed | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reichstag Dome | Free (booking required) | 1–1.5 hrs | Register online days ahead — no walk-up entry |
| Brandenburg Gate | Free | 20–30 min | A 5-minute walk from the Reichstag |
| Museum Island (combined ticket) | ~€19 | 3–4 hrs | Covers 5 museums — pick 2–3 rather than rushing all |
| Berliner Dom (cathedral) | ~€10 | 45–60 min | Climb the dome gallery for Museum Island views |
Day 2 — Cold War Berlin and the east
Spend the morning on Cold War history, then the afternoon at the East Side Gallery and the TV Tower for a skyline view. Day 2 entrance fees total about €35.50, or free if you skip the TV Tower.
| Stop | Entrance | Time needed | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| DDR Museum | ~€12.50 | 1–1.5 hrs | Hands-on exhibits on everyday life in East Germany |
| Berlin Wall Memorial (Bernauer Straße) | Free | 1–2 hrs | The most complete surviving Wall section, with a documentation centre |
| East Side Gallery | Free | 45–60 min | The longest surviving Wall stretch, painted by international artists |
| Berlin TV Tower (Fernsehturm) | ~€23.50 | 45–60 min | Book a timed slot online to skip the queue; skip it and this day is free |
