Les Caprices de Marianne at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées

Henri Sauguet's two-act opéra comique *Les caprices de Marianne* comes to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées for a single performance. Based on Alfred de Musset's 1833 play, the opera premiered at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 1954 and was first staged at this very Parisian venue in 1956.

Set in Naples, the story follows Coelio's desperate pursuit of the married Marianne, who toys with his affections through a series of whims.
