Hammer: A Dance Spectacle by Alexander Ekman at Théâtre du

The GöteborgsOperans Danskompani brings Alexander Ekman's *Hammer* to Paris for its French premiere at the Théâtre du Châtelet. This contemporary dance piece, created in 2022, is a two-act fresco performed by 31 dancers from 20 different countries. The choreography playfully examines modern society's drift from order to chaos, touching on technology and ideology with a humanist perspective.

The score, composed by Mikael Karlsson, blends recorded strings from the Göteborg Opera orchestra with synthesized keyboards, sometimes played by Ekman himself. Known for his inventive and witty style, Ekman has worked everywhere from museums to the Paralympic Games ceremony, and *Hammer* showcases his signature blend of humor and depth.
