About Paris
Paris runs on grand set-pieces: wide Haussmann boulevards, the Seine cutting the city in two, and a cafe culture that turns people-watching into a legitimate pastime. It is also dense, busy and unapologetically touristy around its icons, but step a few streets back into the Marais, Canal Saint-Martin or the Left Bank's Latin Quarter and it feels lived-in, local and quietly elegant.
