The Stylistics play Symphony Hall in Birmingham on 23 November 2026 at 19:30. They are an American Philadelphia soul group, formed in 1968, who had their greatest chart success in the 1970s. All of their U.S.
hits were ballads marked by the falsetto of Russell Thompkins Jr. and the production of Thom Bell. In the early 1970s the group had twelve consecutive R&B top ten hits, among them "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything" and "Betcha by Golly, Wow". "You Make Me Feel Brand New" was their biggest U.S.
hit, holding at No. 2 for two weeks in 1974. As their U.S.
success waned, their popularity in Europe, and especially the United Kingdom, increased, and "Can't Give You Anything (But My Love)" reached number 1 in the U.K. in 1975.
They formed in 1968, with a lineup of singers Russell Thompkins Jr., Herb Murrell, Airrion Love, James Smith, and James Dunn. All of their U.S.
