About Chad Gray

Mudvayne's 2000 debut album, L.D. 50, sold more than half a million copies within a year of release and established the band within the nu metal and groove metal scenes of the era; the group released four further studio albums before a hiatus beginning in 2010 and a reunion in 2021. Notable songs include "Death Blooms," written about his grandmother's illness, and "Dig."

In 2006 Gray co-founded the supergroup Hellyeah in Dallas, Texas, with Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, fellow Mudvayne member Greg Tribbett and drummer Vinnie Paul, formerly of Pantera and Damageplan. Hellyeah released six studio albums between 2007 and 2019, including the songs "Alcohaulin' Ass" and "You Wouldn't Know," before going on hiatus in 2021.

Gray continues to perform as Mudvayne's vocalist.
