Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali
I Pomeriggi Musicali is an Italian orchestra based in Milan, founded in 1945 by theatre promoter Remigio Paone and music critic Ferdinando Ballo. The ensemble made its debut on 27 November that year at the Teatro Nuovo di Milano and has long been resident at the Teatro Dal Verme. It now operates as a foundation supported by regional and municipal government bodies alongside private stakeholders, performing a regular season across Milan and Lombardy and undertaking wider tours.

About Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali
The orchestra built its early reputation championing twentieth-century composers whose work had been suppressed under the Italian fascist regime, including Stravinsky, Hindemith, Webern, Berg, Poulenc, Honegger and Copland. Guest conductors across its history have included Honegger and Hindemith themselves, alongside Claudio Abbado, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez and Carlo Maria Giulini. Its extensive discography centres on Italian composers of various periods, and James Feddeck currently serves as principal conductor.
