Phillip Phillips is an American singer-songwriter born in Albany, Georgia, who performs pop rock and folk rock, primarily on guitar and vocals. He rose to national prominence in 2012 by winning the eleventh season of American Idol; his coronation single, "Home," became the best-selling winner's song in the show's history, moving more than five million copies in the United States.

His debut album, The World from the Side of the Moon (2012), was certified platinum and spent 61 weeks on the Billboard 200. He followed it with Behind the Light (2014), featuring the singles "Raging Fire" and "Unpack Your Heart," and Collateral (2018), which included "Miles." In 2023 he released Drift Back, his first album on an independent label, led by the track "Dancing with Your Shadows."

Phillips has sold more than 7.8 million digital singles and accumulated over a billion on-demand streams. "Raging Fire" earned him a BMI Pop Music Award, and he has received nominations at the American Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards.

His live shows draw on the guitar-driven arrangements of his recordings, and he has toured as a support act for John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, the Goo Goo Dolls, and Bruce Springsteen, in addition to headlining his own tours.
