About The Clause

The band describes its sound as blending indie rock, funk and rhythm and blues, drawing on influences from 1960s swagger, 1980s groove and 1990s attitude. Their 2019 single "In My Element" reached number one on the UK iTunes Rock Chart, and they released a run of EPs including Forever Young (2022), Pop Culture (2023) and Weekend Millionaire (2024).

The Clause built their following largely through energetic live shows, touring in support of acts including The Snuts and The Pigeon Detectives before releasing their debut studio album, Victim of a Casual Thing, in October 2025, which peaked at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart.

The band continues to tour behind their debut album, carrying forward the guitar-driven, groove-oriented sound they developed over nearly a decade as a live act.
