bzw.:BEZIEHUNGSWESEN - Non sapere aude! Über den Mut, sich nicht des eigenen Verstandes zu bedienen is a philosophical conversation at Urania - Kleistsaal in Berlin on 5 November 2026, 17:30. It is part of the philosophy festival at the Urania.
Thomas Grundmann (Universität Köln) and Lars Weisbrod (ZEIT, Hamburg) are the conversation partners, and Benjamin Küntzel provides the framing. The talk starts from the motto "Habe Mut, dich deines eigenen Verstandes zu bedienen! " and asks how far thinking for oneself gets us when knowledge grows ever more specialised and we depend on others.
It also asks when it is reasonable to judge for oneself and when it is reasonable to trust experts. Grundmann and Weisbrod discuss the social dependence of our knowledge, the appropriate degree of trust and the limits of thinking for oneself. The venue is at An der Urania 17, 10787 Berlin.
