Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart - Turning of Bones 2026

Turning of Bones, performed by Gauthier Dance//Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart, takes place at Theaterhaus - T1 in Stuttgart on 19 November 2026, 20:00. It is the first collaboration between the British choreographer and company director Akram Khan and Gauthier Dance, and the creation took almost three seasons. The programme draws on five productions Khan made for himself as a dancer or for the Akram Khan Company: Vertical Road from 2010, iTMOi (In the Mind of Igor), Jungle Book reimagined, the head dance from DESH and Mud of Sorrow.

All of these elements are reworked for the new whole. Original music is by Aditya Prakash, and a narrative frame about two lovers confronted with sacrifice links the scenes.

Khan aims for a more abstract mood than the elaborate sets of the original versions, putting dance and raw emotion at the centre. Tickets start at EUR 25, and a discount is available.
