Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Gera - The Final Countdown - Silvester im KuK 2026

The Final Countdown - Silvester im KuK is a New Year's Eve party at the Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Gera in Gera on 31 December 2026, starting at 20:00 and running until 02:00 on 1 January 2027. The party marks the last event before the building closes for renovation, and event operations are paused from 2027. The reopening is planned for October 2031, the building's 50th birthday.

The musicians of the former band "electra" perform as "CrazyBirds&Freunde" and play songs from the band. They also recall songs by other East German rock acts who played at the KuK, including Michael Barakowski with "Zeit die nie vergeht" and "Silly" with "Der letzte Kunde". DJ Ralph Walter follows the concert and plays until the turn of the year.

He was on stage at the opening of the building in 1981, and 2027 starts his 50th stage anniversary. At 24:00 a Brillant-Höhenfeuerwerk welcomes the new year, and the celebration continues inside the building afterwards.

The event is organised by Stadt Gera – Kulturamt. Tickets start from EUR 29.
