The POLECATS - 50th Anniversary Tour comes to the Nochtspeicher in Hamburg on Friday 19 March 2027 at 20:00. The venue is at Bernhard-Nocht-Str. 69a, 20359 Hamburg.
Tickets start at 34,50 €. The organiser is Nochtspeicher GbR, Bernhard-Nocht-Straße 69a, 20359 Hamburg, Deutschland. The Polecats began their career in 1977 under the name "The Cult Heroes" and played in youth clubs in the north London district of Mill Hill.
The line-up included Tim Polecat and Boz Boorer on guitar, Phil Bloomberg on bass and Chris Hawkes on drums. Boz and Phil shared the vocals at that time. After a drummer change -- Neil Rooney replaced Chris Hawkes -- and with Tim as singer, the Polecats were born.
In early 1982 the Polecats released the hit single "Make a Circuit with Me" and replaced Neil Rooney with John Buck, the drummer of the "Poorboys". In 2027 the Polecats celebrate their 50th anniversary; the band has played in an unchanged line-up for 45 years. To celebrate the anniversary they go on tour and release a new EP with four tracks as well as an album.
The old Nochtspeicher in Hamburg has open brick walls and old wooden beams. The 160-year-old Nochtspeicher, near the Landungsbrücken, formerly served as a schnapps distillery and erotic art museum; today live concerts and events of all kinds take place there. The Nochtspeicher can host indie, swing and country, but also poetry slam or dance events.
In the cellar is the Nochtwache, where parties and events also take place. The vaulted cellar near the Kiez in St. Pauli offers live performances and events every weekend.
