Rhinozeros – ein Comeback - mit Audiodeskription, Berlin

Rhinozeros – ein Comeback - mit Audiodeskription is a performance with hand puppets, masks and material after Eugène Ionesco, staged at Schaubude Berlin in Berlin on 23 January 2027, 20:00. This Saturday show is the performance with audio description. It runs for 70 minutes, in spoken German with English surtitles.

The piece follows three people who seek shelter in a subway station while three animals keep addressing them. Inspired by Ionesco's »Nashörnern«, the team looks at authoritarian transformation and fascist tendencies of the present from a queerfeminist perspective, drawing on expert interviews and the means of puppet theatre. The performers are Mathias Becker, Sophie Bartels and Frieder Miller, and the direction is by manufaktor.

Tickets cost 25 euros (supporter), 18 euros (regular) or 12 euros (discounted). A content note refers to right-wing extremism and fascism, and a sensory note mentions strobe effects and loud music.
