THIS IS (NOT) THE END at Sophiensæle, Berlin

THIS IS (NOT) THE END is a dance and performance piece by Elvan Tekin, presented at Sophiensæle (Hochzeitssaal) in Berlin on Sunday 15 November 2026 at 18:00. The work is performed in English. It brings different forms of dancing into contact that have travelled across places, borders, communities and generations, unsettling familiar ideas of virtuosity, beauty, gender and social propriety.

Within Krzysztof Bagiński's musical landscape and to live piano by Saemi Jeong, the two dancers Elvan Tekin and Samuel Francis Perreira combine, layer and shift these forms, creating a hybrid movement vocabulary. Choreography, concept and performance are by Elvan Tekin, with performance by Samuel Francis Pereira, sound by Krzysztof Bagiński and Saemi Jeong, costume and set design by Evan Loxton, light design by Robert Prideaux, production by Tammo Walter, dramaturgy by Boglárka Börcsök and Jette Bühsenschutz, outside eye by Irem Aydin and Enad Marouf, and dialogue partner Simge Burhanoglu.

The piece is a production by Elvan Tekin in co-production with Sophiensæle, funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion and by the Capital Cultural Fund (HKF), and supported by residencies in PerformIstanbul, Schloss Bröllin, HAUT Copenhagen and MDT Moderna Dansteatern with kind support of Life Long Burning. Tickets are available, with concessions available.
