Trost und Erinnerung - Brahms Requiem in Freiburg

Trost und Erinnerung - Brahms Requiem takes place on Saturday 07.11.2026 from 19:00 Uhr to 20:30 Uhr at the Friedenskirche Freiburg, Hirzbergstraße 1, 79102 Freiburg im Breisgau. Tickets start at 19,80 €, and a reduced price is available. The performers are Anna Schote (soprano), Arndt Schumacher (baritone), the Herdermer Vokalensemble and the Herdermer Consort, with direction by Jens-Martin Ludwig.

The event is presented by the Ev. Bezirkskantorat Freiburg, Maienstr. 2, 79102 Freiburg, Deutschland.

Tickets are handled through Reservix. The programme notes recall Karfreitag 1868, when Brahms conducted the premiere of his work in the Bremer Dom; among the 2000 listeners was Clara Schumann, who said of the work, „dieses Requiem hätte sie ergriffen wie noch nie eine Kirchenmusik". The arrangement by the Freiburg musician J. Linckelmann combines orchestral colours with the intimacy of a chamber orchestra.
