Club de Lectura Naomi Klein

This reading club in Madrid is built around the work of Canadian journalist, writer, and activist Naomi Klein, known for her critique of globalization and capitalism. Each month, participants read and discuss essays and reference works that explore sustainability, economics, ecology, and social transformation, offering a space for reflection and debate on some of the most pressing challenges of our time.

Sessions are held at the Biblioteca Pública Municipal Iván de Vargas in the Centro district, with a programme that spans a wide range of contemporary thinkers. Titles include Sarena Ulibarri's 'Otra vida', Kohei Saito's 'Slow down', Kate Raworth's 'Economía rosquilla', and Ursula K. Le Guin's 'El nombre del mundo es bosque', among others. The club is aimed at adults over 18, and participants are expected to obtain the books themselves, as they are not provided by the library.

With free entry until capacity is reached, this is an accessible way to engage with critical ideas in a communal setting. The sessions are designed for shared reading and discussion, fostering a deeper understanding of the topics at hand.
